𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿: Pr. Clive Gallery- an expert in the Supply Chain field from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School in France

 

TCSTC has great honor to welcome Pr. Clive Gallery from IAE Paris Sorbonne Business School to our mini workshop on 9 May, 2022.There are over 35 staff from Operations Center of Saigon Newport participating in the event. All the participants have a great chance to improve their knowledge on the following subjects:

 

– The Vietnam stock market;

– Foreign Direct Investment in Vietnam

– Case study: Maersk, Vin Group

– Digitalization in Port Operations & Supply Chain

– Future development: Public Private Partnership

 

We also learn about the importance of ESG (Environmental, Society, Governance) criteria because of its effects in the potential investment in every company. This is a new concept for almost all of the participants, helping us to broaden our strategic vision. Also, we see the big potential of the Vietnamese market:

 

“Vietnam will be the fastest-growing e-commerce market in Southeast Asia by 2026, with e-commerce Gross Merchandise Value clocking USD 56 billion, 4.5 times the predicted value in 2021.

By the end of 2021, the country had had 53 million digital customers, with 70% of Vietnam’s population having access to the internet and 53% of them using e-wallets for online payments.

In 2021, the number of products purchased by Vietnamese online consumers increased by 50% over 2020, while the number of online retailers increased by 40% year over year, resulting in a 1.5-fold rise in total online retail sales.”

Pr.Clive Gallery also raises a question on the effects of digitalization to port operations. The case of SNP is a good example with the application of E-port, WMS, RFID… All of us has great time discussing the advantages and disadvantages of digitalization in port/ warehouse operations.
